Established in 2003 by the UPES Act of the State Legislature of Uttarakhand, UPES University has firmly established itself as a prominent institution in the field of education. Renowned for its dedication to excellence, the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) has achieved a notable position, securing the ninth rank under the University Overall category according to the prestigious QS Asia University Rankings of 2023.
As a reflection of its commitment to quality education, UPES holds accreditations from esteemed bodies such as the International Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE), the National Board of Accreditation (NBA), and has earned an impressive A Grade accreditation from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). Furthermore, the university is duly recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC), Bar Council of India, and the Pharmacy Council of India.
Adding to its laurels, UPES University is acknowledged as a Scientific and Research Organisation by the Directorate of Industrial and Scientific Research (DISR), under the Ministry of Science Technology, and the Government of India. Situated in Dehradun, UPES University operates from two campuses, namely UPES Bidholi and UPES Kandoli, both contributing to the vibrant academic environment. The university, through its nine schools of study, provides a diverse range of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs spanning Management, Engineering, and Science disciplines.
